What to bring to registration
You will need the following to complete your course registration:
- Offer letter - You will need this letter in case there are any questions about your course.
- Certificates - Bring the originals of any qualifications required for the course to which you have been admitted. You may be required to show these during the registration process.
- Identification - see below
Identification
In order to register at The University of Hertfordshire you will be required to show identification. Accepted forms of identification are:
- Passport - If you were born outside the UK or have spent any time living outside the UK you must bring your passport to registration.
- UK Photo Driving License - If you were born in the UK you may use your photo driving license card to register. Please note that the old style paper license will not be accepted.
- Original Birth Certificate - Copies will not be accepted
Without showing an accepted form of identification you will not be able to register.
- International Students - If you are an international student you must bring your passport and visa documentation to registration
- Payment details - You'll need to show how you are going to pay your tuition fee. Bring your student loan details, sponsorship agreement or tuition fee payment.
How to pay your tuition fee
- Student loan payment: Bring your Student Finance England assessment/correspondence if you are expecting a student loan.
- Sponsored payment: Bring formal, written confirmation of funding if you are being sponsored. We require either a letter from your sponsor on headed paper or a completed and signed 'Agreement to sponsor' form.
- Self-funding: You can pay with credit/ debit card if you are paying fees yourself. Payment by debit or credit card is a more secure way for you to pay your fees. If you are self-funding you will need to pay 50% of the course fee in order to register.

FREE Heathrow Airport collection service
The University runs a free airport collections service for overseas students starting courses at the beginning of Semesters A and B and also at the start of our Pre-Sessional English programmes.

Overseas students' orientation programme
To help you settle into life at the University, we run a free Overseas Students' Orientation Programme. If joining the University will be your first time in the United Kingdom you may find that UK culture, customs and procedures are different to those that you're used to. The free programme has been designed to familiarise you with all aspects of living and studying in the UK and provides you with information and advice you need to help you make the most of your time in the UK and with us here at the University of Hertfordshire.
